Crazy great weekend in Marths's Vinyard with WBS! Powered through originals written by our bassist, Peter Capra and moved through the Grateful Dead catalogue. Along the way determined that there are, indeed, twenty five more Dead tunes I would rather hear than Friend of the Devil. Who knew! Hoping for a Holiday Party playing opportunity. Name driven by the fabulous sound of the Atrium space at our wonderful hosts, The Bowdens. Thanks.

After a pleasant turn around the Aegean Sea, I've returned to get more serious (well, not Siren serious, but certainly Odysseus wandering serious). Those of you regular visitors will notice a new tune on the samples page. Jojo Gator wrote it and arranged it and I dialed in some sax and with a little help from my friend Dan Palermo, some sweet guitar. Check it out. OceanAveStudio continues to rock the summer with renown musicians hitting a pop up party Sat. July 30th at 7pm. Be sure to check it out.
And a new band is forming in Cambridge. Formed by the unlikely re-emergence of a willing guitar master oncologist who appeared from the past, a crazy funk driven bassist, a Polish drummer and a singer with Aretha chops, the band without a name coalesces and is hovering for an OceanAve recording session.
Good news OAS followers- played sax with a hot new quintet being formed by Chris Bowden. Chris, on guitar, and I played together briefly with the Remedies before he moved to Italy to work in our Oncology group at Pharmacia. Now he's back in Boston with the "Peters", our rhythm section of Peter and Peter and a hot Aretha style singer, Rebecca. Prompted me to buy more gear, as is my want, and a sweet light Yamaha MX61 gig piano is in the house now paired with the Roland keyboard amp. Stay tuned!
Hi All. OceanAveStudio has been on a roll. After a sojourn to Dubai to pick up some Middle Eastern vibe, we returned to our seaside enclave to lay down some VD tunes with guest guitarist and vocalist J. Blawie. Thanks to some wizardry by Sohta we worked around the bum transformer in one of the Brystons (now back up and cranking) and caught some magic in the room. Working on the Ajanta Suite and almost finished the second movement, but the chorus still lacking something. We had rumors that the Gator man himself was coming back up from Florida, but the chill weather scared him away. Stay tuned. Also coming up is a reformation of the Jersey classic band The Remedies around guitar man Chris and yours truly on sax in Boston. Look for some recordings from them. Also possibly luring former Remedies bass master, Niklas from Sweden with his seven piece funk outfit. Sea smoke surround sound in the chill. Wave out.
Greetings all! Launching the OceanAveStudio website and finally have got the elements together. I want to give a shout out to Alexandra Corrigan, who helped me with some of the navigation. Be sure to check out her terrific page. Also I had a terrific meet up with Jack Gauthier at Lakewest Studios a couple of days ago. Jack is a real pro and was generous with his time as we compared notes on studios and he shared some of his extensive recording experiences. I am off to Dubai tonight and hoping to catch some middle eastern inspiration for my next sessions. Mark
